Jag är faktiskt ganska nöjd med Trebouxia-artikeln! Har jag verkligen skrivit såhär proffsigt?!

"The sequences represent 18 haplotypes, which all belong to the unicellular green alga genus Trebouxia. In contrast to the fungal data set (Lindblom & Søchting 2008), the northern and southern hemispheres share no haplotypes, and in addition, there is an obvious geographical pattern in the photobiont: (1) Genetic diversity is considerably larger in the Arctic-boreal zone than in Antarctica, as measured by number of haplotypes, polymorphic sites, clades, and nucleotide diversity,(2) Samples from Antarctica are clustered in one monophyletic group, whereas samples from the Arctic-boreal zone turn out to belong to four different lineages and/or different Trebouxia species, thus explaining the higher genetic diversity measurements."

"The photobiont data from the present study did not allow us to conclude how the bipolar geographic distribution of the lichen X. borealis arose. It maybe any of the processes mentioned above, or a combination of them. However, we can indeed conclude that the mycobiont shows low selectivity for its Trebouxia photobiont. Thus, X. borealis shares a “photobiont-pool” (concept suggested by Beck et al. 1998) with several other lichen-forming taxa, e.g.,species in Cetraria, Flavocetraria, Lecidea and Rinodina.It provides yet another example of a successful life strategy of xanthorioid lichens."
